In January 2017, as Insider Media celebrates a decade in the South West, The Growth Hub is co-sponsoring an event looking at the past, present and future of business in Gloucestershire.

This celebration of ten years of change in the county will examine the impact of the £77m Gloucestershire growth deal, how it’s been distributed and the changes that it has made. The industrial development and regeneration projects, such as Gloucester Docks, will also be spotlit; along with looking forward to the potential impact of future central government funding.

Technology, media and communications sectors are likely to play important roles in the future of Gloucestershire. New initiatives like the new cyber hub at Berkeley will become central, and employees in the region will need to be equipped with the right skills for emerging businesses.

Finally, the event’s speakers will discuss the challenges facing the county; including skilled workers leaving Gloucestershire and returning only later in their careers. Retaining capable staff will be a key factor in Gloucestershire’s success in the next decade and beyond.
