Construction and Infrastructure

Purpose

Our Construction and Infrastructure Business Group was established to support the county’s sustainable development plans whilst identifying potential environmental and social impacts for the betterment of Gloucestershire.

Purpose

1. To offer support in identifying and facilitating the planning of employment land within the county particularly along the M5 ‘growth zone’.
2. To work collaboratively to support infrastructure developments surrounding planned growth areas, taking into consideration any environmental and social impact.

Terms of Reference

• Work with Gloucester City, Tewkesbury, and Cheltenham Borough councils on the continuation of delivery of the Joint Strategic Plan.
• Build on the ‘Enabling Sustainable Development’ work of Local Authorities and Planners to ensure a more joined-up and sustainable approach to planning applications and decisions.
• Offer collective responses on behalf of Growth and Enterprise Team to Local and National Plans and infrastructure projects where appropriate.
• To feed back to the wider GET team on county-wide planning projects, identifying areas for economic development.
