A Gloucestershire family business has capitalised on government funding available via a national leadership programme to give them a competitive edge.
Creative Picture Framing Gloucestershire, based in Cirencester, used the Help to Grow Management programme to develop their senior team, boost their performance and increase their resilience.

As a long-established small business ready to scale-up, we found ourselves at a crossroads with lots of exciting opportunities ahead of us but not knowing how to approach the future. It was helpful when the Help to Grow course leaders took us through the different modules to look at the various challenges and skills needed to be successful. Then in smaller, break-out groups, we were able to focus more closely on what we needed to do for our own business.

As a new director of an SME learning about various elements of the company, the different modules of the course were very useful. It gave me a good insight and a broad understanding of what was needed for the future. The course created a safe space to talk about different business challenges with like-minded people.
What can business leaders expect from Help To Grow: Management?
The Help to Grow: Management Programme is valued at £7,500 per person, with 90% funded by the Government.
The programme offers participants 50 hours of support over 12 weeks. There are eight facilitated online sessions and four workshops delivered in-person on Oxstalls Campus at Gloucestershire University. After each taught session, participants will meet in smaller groups for peer network sessions, which will enable them to review and reflect together.
Each course attendee will also be paired up with a mentor who will facilitate one-to-one online sessions, with the end goal of producing a growth plan that they can take away and implement in their company.
A new cohort of ambitious Gloucestershire businesses will start on the 25th of April, with a quick onboarding session on the 18th of April. It’s designed to fit alongside work commitments and combines a practical curriculum with one-to-one support from a leading business mentor and alumni networking sessions
