Small and medium-sized food and drink producers are being invited to up their digital reach through a series of three important workshops on Digital Marketing, starting on 31 October 2019, in Gloucester.
The workshops will focus on three linked areas: developing digital marketing strategies; branding, storytelling and marketing; and online sales.
Participants in the first workshop will hear Wayne Standley, manager at award-winning beef and lamb producer Todenham Manor Farm, say that digital marketing doesn’t have to cost the earth, and that it can be developed successfully and gradually.
Mary Thomas of Concise Training, one of the speakers and an expert in social media use, says:
“67% of the UK population use digital channels to communicate. The Cotswold Taste workshops will help food producers develop a digital marketing strategy so they can engage with their audience at the right time and in the most appropriate way.”
Ben Kinnaird of Rather Inventive, another speaker, adds:
“A clear and consistent marketing strategy with its sole focus on delighting your customer will win out over sales gimmicks every time. This series of workshops is aimed at sharing proven ideas and ways of working that any business will be able to benefit from”.
The workshops will be held at the recently opened Gloucester-based UK Digital Retail Innovation Centre (UK:DRIC) in October, and in January/February 2020.
The workshop series is being supported by the region’s food and drink quality marques (Cotswold Taste, Worcestershire Food & Drink Association and Eat Sleep Live Herefordshire), by the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnerships, and by the Government-backed UK:DRIC.
Future workshops on digital marketing are being planned for food and drink retailers and hospitality outlets, later in 2020.
