There’s never been a Growth Hub in Gloucestershire before. We are treading a path un-trod, yet our motivation to help Gloucestershire businesses achieve their ambitions for growth is unwavering. In order to stay on track and continuously improve and indeed grow The Growth Hub, it’s important that we regularly check the temperature of what we’re doing and what our customers think of us.
To that end we’ve engaged in a series of activities to ensure we are gaining the right level of feedback from clients and the business community across the life of The Growth Hub from the day-to-day to the long term.
How we gain feedback
On a monthly basis we survey our clients to understand how the support intervention experience was for them. The feedback from this is reviewed and action plans put in place to ensure we’re delivering the best for our clients. We also invite informal feedback; we really are a lovely bunch of people and welcome all comments and compliments at all times.
Looking to the immediate future, we are working with EBS Consulting to better understand how businesses in Gloucestershire want to access business support and what help is needed. EBS are also mapping business support provision and bringing both of these pieces of research together to identify gaps and areas of duplication. As part of this we’re creating a series of surveys for clients and providers. We will use the responses to inform how we make the process of accessing business support simpler.
With a view on the longer term BiGGAR Economics has been commissioned jointly by The University of Gloucestershire and GFirst LEP to quantify the extent to which The Growth Hub has enabled companies to increase their Gross Value Added (GVA) and create new jobs. Overall BiGGAR will assess the contribution that this has made to economic growth in the county.
Consultants from BiGGAR are undertaking a series of interviews with clients to baseline where we are now. This, added to consultations with the partners and an information review, will form the content of an initial report, from which we will draw lessons and identify areas of improvements. BiGGAR will continue to evaluate The Growth Hub by conducting an interim review in 2017 and a further review in 2021.
