Experience:
Jon is an experienced Managing Director with a demonstrated history of working in the retail industry. Skilled in Leadership and Management, Product Design, E-commerce, Retail, and Import/Export Operations, he is also a Governor at the local secondary school.
Having graduated from The University of Huddersfield in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science, he spent 2 years as an Engineer, initially working on motor control systems before moving on to military communications and surveillance.
Having always had an interest in watches, around ten years ago, he decided to turn a hobby into a business. To the bemusement of his colleagues, he gave up full time employment and set up as a sole trader selling replacement watch straps on eBay under the name “WatchGecko”.
He enjoyed reasonable success and by 2012 had outgrown the spare room and established a limited company, which one year later took on its first employees. By 2023 he employed 20 staff with 5,000 square feet of office space in Tewkesbury.
