Experience:
Julian has worked in small, medium and large companies, in privately-owned, FTSE 100, US-owned, VC-owned in the UK, Europe and the US. He’s seen start-ups, explosive growth, business crisis, redundancies, and most things in-between. He has also worked at entry level up to and including main-board and trustee roles and is currently a Trustee Director for an Employee Ownership Trust.
His core skills are around technology, people and projects, ensuring technology delivers real business value and supports the business strategy. A key part of this has been being the most senior technology professional in a number of companies, being involved in all business issues and challenges.
Julian started as a junior programmer, working through project manager, programme manager, IT Director and CIO. His most recent experience has been as a fractional IT Director, working a day a week with a number of clients, helping to address IT-related challenges, but then moving on to drive business growth through the use of technology.
A key part of being successful in my career has been people skills. Building and leading teams; fixing issues with teams.
